Central Parents' Committee

History of CPC Members

On October 1, 1998, the first General Assembly of Parents of the newly-formed Lester B. Pearson School Board met for the first time. At that meeting, the parent representatives from the board's elementary and high schools voted to set up four (4) regional parents' committees and a central parents' committee. In addition, the representatives elected four (4) members from each region to the central parents' committee. It was also stipulated that of the four representatives from each region, at least one had to be a representative from a high school.

At the October 2001 Annual General Assembly, the Parents' Committee realigned their committees along the same administrative sectors as the school board (three elementary sectors, one secondary sector).
